Why would a newborn baby need an adjustment you ask?
Well, let me ask you, how much force is used on a newborn’s neck during delivery? Let’s assume “normal” “easy” vaginal delivery. How about a caesarian birth? What if labor is stalled, or very intense for a long time.
What if I told you it’s up to 90 pounds 🤯.
Then hopefully instead of saying “why would a newborn need an adjustment” you’d say “WHEN can my baby get checked!”
Let’s face it, birth is a lot of work for both mom and baby. It’s not this easy, tidy little kangaroo pouch that we just open up take the baby out and seal up.
Since the nervous system controls literally EVERY aspect of your baby’s body and development, starting chiropractic care at birth is setting them up for success!
The top of our neck is so vitally important for overall life function. Our brainstem controls everything. With so much force on a baby’s neck during delivery an overwhelming majority of newborns have cervical subluxation.
Ultimately the goal of chiropractic care for your family is not about the symptoms but about making sure your child can live up to their fullest health potential. We believe your child is designed to be amazing, our job is just to keep them connected to that potential!
What families notice:
Often times families who have started care after their first baby but before their second will report everyday things being easier with their second baby than their first. This can most commonly be seen with latch, sleeping, and digestion. As they continue care they will often notice this child may have a seemingly stronger immune system making them less susceptible to ear infections, colds etc.
Hopefully this helps you understand why a newborn baby would need an adjustment! Have more questions, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you!
